Until today.

I didn’t know how to be a #boymom, until today. I knew how to feed him, clothe him, love him, but until today I didn’t know how to be his mom.

I was ready to fight the patriarchy, to raise a girl in the rebellion, to show her that girls rule the world. As often happens, life had other plans: I didn’t know what they were, until today.

I woke up and told him I loved him, and that I would fight for a world where he is loved and accepted. Full stop. I will fight for a world where, as his mom, I have the voice to protect those I love AND maintain control of my life and my choices.

I believed in the promise of a better tomorrow, until today. Today I believe in the work of coming together and showing that we are enough and we must do better, for our sons, daughters, and ourselves.

Until today.

We ran amuck, amuck, amuck at the @runbentonville Goblin Run 5K!

If there is a race with a theme you know we’ll be there, and now we have the stroller to decorate too! Little Man has learned by now he’s in for a life of fun and adventure with us 🎃

When my friend’s daughter expressed interest in running (after running her first race one week before!) I said ‘She can run with us!’. Let me say…she absolutely crushed it! It was so much fun running, watching her check on little man, teaching her how to run/walk safely on a race course, and playing the Rescue Ranges theme son on repeat (think Dopey 2023 IYKYK).

We ran amuck, amuck, amuck at the @runbentonville Goblin Run 5K!

Last year I walk-jogged the 5K course with @spindriftsoul while @running2batuu crushed the half. He warned me about this year’s hills, but I was ready. It felt so amazing to be back out there chasing 13.1, and I look forward this new season of being a #motherrunner 💪🏼 and we had to take the mascot photo, even though we’re Team Patriots (and sometimes Broncos) in this house!

My goal was to run 2-hours, which is what I told Justin we’d run. Secretly I wanted to hit 10 miles in that time. I’m nothing if not ambitious in my #newmomlife era 😆

At 59:46 I hit 5 miles and felt good. I knew I could hit my goal, and I did! Together, we hit our longest family (stroller) run to date!!

That’s a wrap on September miles, officially my longest mileage month since April 2023!

My goal was to finally get back to 50
mile months, but that was a bit ambitious. I ended at 42.2, about half a mile more than I did in April of this year. It may have been 5:30 pm on the last day, but a 10K was exactly what I needed mentally, emotionally, and physically. #mentalhealthmatters

WDW will now have Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, systems working eerily similar to our beloved Fastpass system. If you’re new to Disney or have never been, this is a welcome change from Genie+ and will allow travel planners (like me!) to assist you even more!

If you’re a seasoned rope-drop to fireworks kind of traveler this is giving serious fast pass vibes. I’d love to work together on getting you all of the experiences in a way that works for your travel style, party size, and budget!

It has felt SO good to get back into a running groove! Flashback to my birthday run in my sprinkle set that has become my unofficial birthday running uniform 🎂 🎉

Between little man having his first cold and then me getting sick I ran approximately 5 😱 miles in May…I’m already up to 14 for June. Goal is 45 or more as I continue to build back post-partum. Each mile feels better than the last both mentally and physically: now to book that fall marathon 😱🤞🏼

Little man’s first #globalrunningday did not disappoint! We are so grateful the local parks and recreation department was able to clear the paths and our family could get out for a stroller run today. Justin and I took turns pushing the stroller for a half mile each and little man had a big smile on his face the whole time!

I can’t wait for a summer of miles and smiles together! These last two weeks have seemed surreal and taking 30 minutes to get out as a family was so good for my soul.

Little man’s first #globalrunningday did not disappoint! We are so grateful the local parks and recreation department was able to clear the paths and our family could get out for a stroller run today. That running and the thrill of happiness would bring so much into my life: friends, confidence, and an appreciation for getting through life’s hardest moments.

That one weekend could change your life. While I may not have loved the walk to the start #iykyk or the crowds, I will always love what Princess 2020 gave me: more friendship and love than I knew was possible, an appreciation to never stop running, and the joy of knowing that I am enough as I am. #rundisney #princessweekend
